MPW's Ultra-High Pressure (40K p.s.i.) boiler striping technology uses the dynamics of high-speed, pulsating water to remove the most adherent contaminants from boiler wall surfaces. It is proven to be the most effective application for preparing tubes for NDT (Non-DestructiveTesting) and weld overlay. UHP surface guns use less than 3 gpm, eliminating costly clean-up and disposal. Airborne particulates are not an issue, so multiple trades may work simultaneously in the boiler. From a performance perspective, MPW's boiler cleaning services increase unit efficiency, reduce NOx, emissions and reduce fouling for all downstream sections.

MPW's fleet of vacuuming equipment effectively remove coals spills in tunnels, belt lines and structures; fly ash deposits from air pre-heaters, hoppers, stacks, precipitators and ash collection points. MPW's high volume/high pressure pumps power multiple Hydroblasting guns and lances when cleaning scrubbers, heat exchangers, cyclones and economizers. Proprietary 2D and 3D tooling achieve 360º of waterjet coverage throughout the entire boiler. Cable mounted rotating nozzles run through the penthouse, covering tube walls and shafts in air preheaters, removing slag, refractory, and fly ash deposits generated from coal combustion.

In addition to industrial cleaning services, MPW provides high purity short-term and long-term deionized (DI) water for pre-commissioning steam blows, and for maintaining efficient HRSG operation. MPW supports existing water systems through service exchange deionization and reverse osmosis service. MPW provides expert membrane cleaning, preventative maintenance and engineering support, including emergencies, planned outages and scheduled maintenance. With MPW, you gain water quality experts while minimizing overhead costs and maintaining operational flexibility.

PRIMARY METALS

MPW's record of service in the primary metal industry is unmatched, and the commitment to our health and safety and environmental process serves as a benchmark within the industry. As cost control mandates efficiency at every level of operations, MPW continues to augment the needs of the primary metal industry by designing and implementing innovative cleaning solutions which employ state-of-the-art tooling and equipment to extract maximum efficiency from every component we service.

MPW fabricators design proprietary hydroblast tooling to clean above and below ground underfire gas lines with extreme flow restriction. The unique on-line equipment configuration results in an increase in additional oven pushes and millions of dollars cost avoidance from not having to replace a restricted main.

When underground lines break or fail, mill management is unable to use backhoes to locate the problem area due to congested areas and costly below grade pressurized lines. Hydro Excavation services provided by MPW provide a safe alternative to conventional digging methods by using pressurized water to loosen compacted soil, while a high-velocity vacuum removes the soil slurry to expose critical process lines without disruption to service. Proprietary tooling used in conjunction with Hydroblasting methods in mills, improve speed and efficiency of flumes, drains and sluice ways.

MPW expanded labor support and equipment operation services fully integrate management and labor support programs into your production process. Our highly skilled and experienced workforce helps your facility run at maximum efficiency. At MPW, we pride ourselves on the appearance of our customers' facility inside and out by providing mills with traditional janitorial cleaning and grounds keeping services.

While MPW provides the primary metal industry with a full range of auxiliary services to clean cranes, conveyors, ladles, permanent molds, refiners, furnaces, mills, rollers, bag houses and sumps, we continue to develop proprietary tooling and application techniques that minimize downtime and significantly reduce costs.

NUCLEAR POWER

MPW's Nuclear Services offers a full range of industrial cleaning and commissioning services that minimize downtime and optimize nuclear power plant production.

The Cryojetic® cleaning process has been effectively used to clean a wide-variety of materials including ceramic tile, concrete, stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and carbon composites. The system has also effectively abraded and removed a variety of materials such as accumulated surface debris, rust, galvanized and other heavy metal coatings and hazardous or volatile residues.

MPW's ultra-high pressure (40K p.s.i.) hydro-lazing technology is unmatched for removing coatings during re-line projects, for cleaning completely blocked tubes in exchangers, and for surface preparation to permit vessel or weld seam inspection.

UHP has also proven to be an effective replacement for particulate blasting for cleaning equipment components, and it has replaced chemical cleaning for lube oil tanks and lines. Because MPW's UHP surface cleaning guns use only a fraction of the water (3 gpm) generated by conventional hydro-lazing units, they provide an important asset to waste minimization programs.

MPW offers complete water purification systems and services customized to achieve your specific needs. An expert technician provides immediate system support 24-hours a day. Our services are available for any circumstance including emergencies, pre-commissioning, planned outages and scheduled maintenance. Our versatile water systems produce various flow rates and water purification outputs.

PULP AND PAPER

MPW works closely with pulp and paper mills to develop industrial cleaning programs to improve productivity, quality and environmental compliance. Poorly maintained process equipment results in unscheduled maintenance, shutdowns and costly production losses to a mill. MPW can reduce the length of unforeseen shutdowns through a comprehensive analysis and optimization of operating systems, resulting in major costs savings to a mill.

Scale build-up on boiler tubes, salt cake in the upper furnace, smelt bed, refractory and clinkers in the firebox all mandated specialized industrial cleaning procedures. Depending on the severity of the cleaning project, MPW's highly skilled work force coupled with an extensive fleet of 10K and 20K p.s.i. high-pressure waterblast pumps increase hydroblasting intensity where needed.

MPW engineers and fabrication technicians customize automated lancing systems, waterblast nozzles and retractable tooling to enter at inspection ports, confined space areas and remote and inaccessible areas, minimizing safety risk to personnel. MPW's Ultra-High Pressure (UHP) Waterjet Technology (40K p.s.i.) is valuable when 10K or 20K p.s.i. hydroblasting is not effective. UHP technology preps dryer drums for inspection, removes the most adherent scale, mastics, phosphates, coatings, coke, black liquor and refractory.

We provide cleaning solutions and increase efficiencies in all areas of the mill, including recovery boilers, pulp mills, bleach plants, stock preparation, paper machines, ponds, chemical recovery, coating, kraft digesters, waste treatment and wood yards. MPW's diversified services enable our clients to prosper in today's competitive environment.

MPW plays a vital role in minimizing the time required for petro-chemical plant turnarounds, which translates into millions of dollars saved for petrochemical plants and refineries. Customers benefit from MPW's myriad of services, returning efficiencies to all critical areas of the plant.

MPW OSHA trained operators utilize proprietary and patented tooling during Hydroblasting and Vacuuming projects when cleaning heat exchangers (shell side and tube side), reactors, towers, drums and above ground storage tanks for API 653 inspection. Additionally, MPW uses high pressure, high volume capabilities to clean various pipeline configurations congested with cured resins, de-coke continuous cokers and vapor lines and to de-slag boilers.

MPW also offers Ultra-High Pressure (40K p.s.i.) waterjet technology to prepare welds or surfaces for NDT testing, for cleaning tubes for IRIS or eddy-current testing, and for "cold" cutting tanks and lines. Recommended pigging applications remove heavy sediment from process lines, crude lines, potable water lines, and fire protection lines.

MPW's Cryojectic® Cleaning process utilizes a dry ice pellet application to remove surface contaminants without the use of abrasives or chemicals. The characteristics of the carbon dioxide pellets are ideal for use around energized electrical systems, with minimal waste and no effluent.

MPW continues to invest in qualified people and equipment to reduce the personnel risk of exposure to environmental hazards and downtime on turnaround projects.
